La Nit de l'Art

At the weekend, Palma's alleys turn into a fascinating setting for the art scene at the 23rd "Nit de l'Art". At the annual folk festival, where 20 galleries, museums and cultural centers open their doors to some 30,000 visitors, the art gallery association "Art Palma Contemporani" has put together a three-day program that offers professionals, art lovers and the general public an interesting overview of to preserve the contemporary cultural and artistic offer of Palma. The goal is to place Palma as a central point in the art scene inside and outside Spain.

The program will begin on Thursday with lectures by experts from the African art scene on the theme: "The Future of Artistic and Curatorial Practices in Africa". On the 20th and 21st of September the so-called "Arco Gallery Walks" will be offered, gallery guides in cooperation with the Foundation of the Madrid Art Fair Arco and the Island Council of Mallorca. Before the Vernissages officially ring in the "Nit de l'Art" on 21 September at 19:00, the director Christian Tran will be presenting his documentary movie "Terres Barceló" as part of the new "Cinema d'Art" in the Caixa Forum, which is about a major exhibition by the Mallorcan artist Miquel Barceló in Paris.

The organizers of the Art Night include the exhibiting galleries Aba Art, Addaya, Fran Reus, Kewenig, Horrach Moyá, Maior, Pep Llabrés, Xavier Fiol, Gabriel Vanrell, CCA .
